PG-573 is a 0.118in (3.0mm) gloss clear polycarbonate sheet with a protective masking film on both sides. Polycarbonate is sometimes referred to by one of its common brand names: Lexan®, Tuffak®, Monogal®, or Makrolon®. Polycarbonate is known for its high impact resistance, excellent machinability, and good light transmission. Common applications for 0.118†polycarbonate include: 1. machine guards and equipment shields for moderate-impact protection in factories, shops, and labs including: CNC enclosures, drill press guards, laser cutter lids; 2. security glazing (low to moderate threat) for schools, retail stores, and public areas; 3. window glazing and storm protection applications for sheds, garage windows, or coastal buildings; 4. signage and display panels such as wayfinding signs, directory boards, LED display covers, menu boards, and other POP/retail signage; 5. light-duty protective barriers such as sneeze guards, checkout partitions, and desk dividers; 6. DIY projects and enclosures including PC case panels, terrariums, or lightboxes; and 7. vehicle, boat, and utility windows including side windows and instrument panel covers. Its shatter resistant material can be cut and drilled with standard tools without the risk of cracking. Polycarbonate also offers excellent optical clarity making it great for applications where viewability is desired. As a better insulator than glass, polycarbonate can help to lower energy costs. Please note that the 0.118†thickness is not intended for certain applications where extreme force will be applied to the polycarbonate.
